I can't believe it!

Just check this weather out, After all our rain, 51 days of it, this was today. We took Jodie for a walk up Rosewall hill, just outside of St. Ives. There is a hill either side of the road. On the seaward side the hill is smaller, we went up that one today. The views are just glorious. The hill the other side is twice as good, it is higher and you can see all around and right over to St. Michaels mount. We chose the smaller one because it was freezing cold and rather windy. I love it up there and take Jodie up alot. There are cows roaming on one hill and Dartmoor ponies on the other, although we didnt meet them today.

Hope you are all having a great weekend and your weather is just as good!

I'm organised!

Time is flying by and Christmas is fast approaching. I am quite organised for me i think , although i still have a few pressies to sort out. I spent Friday night decorating the tree, not a real one this year as i was given a 7 foot artificial one and really wanted to see how it looked! I am rather pleased with it, its full of allsorts of decorations cos thats how i like it, some old ones, some new ones , some homemade ones and some bought ones! I love the Christmas tree and am always a bit sad when it has to go. The rain is still ongoing, although today is a bit brighter, and hasn't rained since this morning, the showers we have been having are just so heavy. I hope you are all enjoying the lead up to Christmas and have a good week. x x x x

The waves were coming up over on to the front in town which is great fun if youre walking along there!! Took these pics at Porthmeor, it was quite stormy, the waves were great, no surfers surprisingly!!!

I,m still here!

I have been away from the computer for a while, well i have been checking in to read your blogs now and again. Chris had two weeks off work so we did a bit of decorating. Evenings were taken up with work. Now i am pretty much back to normal, but i have lots of sewing and beading to do as i have a craft fair coming up at the end of the month! I have been making some Robins that i made last year and some gingerbread men. We,ve had some very windy and wet weather just lately and my garden is looking a bit of a mess, a bit battered, so i must try and do something with that too. I actually put my heating on for the first time last week, its gone quite cold. Bonfire night was pretty uneventful as the weather was a bit windy, Sam actually isn,t that keen really on Fireworks. Nowadays there don,t seem to be many Bonfires, just fireworks. When i was little everyone used to take their wood and stuff to the local community centre and build the most enormous bonfire then we would all go and stand around it with hot potatoes, hot dogs, treacle toffee , light the bonfire with the guy on the top then watch the fireworks and it was just great! Quite a few years ago now there used to be a big bonfire on Porthmeor Beach and everyone used to go , it was fab, take a flask with you and sit on the beach by the fire, but sadly its not allowed anymore. Thats Health and Safety for you i s'pose. Anyway back to the sewing!!!!

Have a great week everyone x x x

A little piece of art

I have been beading for a change . I used to do alot a few years ago, i showed you in the previous post some of my brooches. I came up with this brooch, using different size beads and the odd button, oh and some felt beads i made! I think i shall make some smaller ones this one measures 3.5"x2.5" and took quite some time to make and has hundreds of beads on it, i do rather like it though!

This is my latest little house, i haven't got a name for it yet!
Whilst looking through my photos i found these of some beaded brooches i made last year. I like beading , although it takes quite a while. The brooches here were all Christmas presents. I thought i would have ago at some more, maybe put them on Folksy. I think i am going to needlefelt the base for the beads and use some brighter colours, make them abit funky!

This one has a little charm frog on it, not sure you can see it. Will have to improve my photography skills for things so small!

I was delaying writing another post cos i so liked looking at that beautiful eye in the previous post, even though i see him every day, hmm how sad is that!!!! Perhaps i'll put him in my sidebar! x x x x
Hope you are all having a good week.

My Best Friend!

A large and liquid eye...the swirl of dust around pounding hooves...these, then, are the images that move us.

I'm growing a pineapple!

Haven't told you about my pineapple i don't think have i ? Well i have tried planting the tops before but with no luck, so back in the beginning of the summer i think it was, i thought i would have another go, but this time i dried it out first, then planted it, and look !! The leaves with brown bits on are the old leaves but the new ones are all shooting up the middle. I don't know how far it will go and i think they get very large, but i had to have ago. Anyone else grown one?

One of my favourite times, a quiet cuppa and a look through the latest CL mag!

Heres Alfie, he's needlefelted and ready to go in my shop later along with some new houses, i have been busy. I have been down on hours at work just lately so have been using the time to sew and felt. Although i have a sewing room upstairs i much prefer to sit at the kitchen table and sew, i think i like to be near the kettle and the food!!! I can either listen to music or watch/listen to the tv. I am very happy just to sit and create and the time goes really fast, i can often be still sitting there at 1am in the morning!!!

Middle of the week already, hope you're all having a good one!! x x x

Monday, 12 October 2009

Just for a change from making little houses, i thought over the weekend i would get out the needlefelting stuff. I haven't done any for a while, and i came up with this little rabbit! She's not quite finished, i have to add a bit of detail on her face. For those of you who have never needlefelted , it is alot of fun, i think, but quite time consuming. I made a few bears last year and i think i will have a go at some more, although i shall still be doing my little houses, its just nice to do something a bit different! Hope you have all had a good Monday, the weather here is glorious and is set for the week so they say!!!! catch ya later! x x

Its a beautiful day!

Lucky me, i received yesterday a beautiful parcel from the lovely Heidi over at snowdrop cottage. Lovely cards and gift tags made by Heidi all wrapped up in a bundle with string and a little shell, put in a pretty little fabric bag and all sprinkled with lovely smelling lavender!!
Can you see the little bits of lavender, i collected most of it up and put it along with the shell in my shell bowl! Thank you Heidi soooo much, i love it!

We had to do a bit of shopping in Penzance today so i took a few pics while i was there seeing as it was such a beautiful day. We wandered around the harbour while eating pasties.

Then we had a quick nip to Longrock Beach, not too many people about.

See the sun sparkling on the sea, i love that!

Have a great weekend all x x x x
