Is it hot enough for you?

We have had a bit of welcome relief today with a light shower of rain and a bit of cloud. It is alot cooler here today thank goodness, i don't like it too hot. A nice coastal breeze and i am happy! It was not enough to water my garden though so will have to do that later this evening.

This is a work in progress , another St. Ives harbour picture.

And this is the glass vase with the pebbles we collected on Saturdays post. Its sitting on the window sill in the bathroom. Hoping you are all keeping cool, they say its going to get hotter, phew !! x x

Down to the beach

Today is yet another glorious day, so with Chris at work today , Sam and i decided we would go pebble collecting at Long Rock beach over nearSt. Michaels Mount in Penzance. I want some pebbles to go in a square glass vase i found. When i say found i mean it kind of just appeared, i don't really know where it came from but i thought i would fill it with pebbles and it would look nice in the bathroom.

Lots of pebbeles to choose from on this beach which is both sand and pebbles.

A bit of rock climbing too!

The tide was out so it was a bit of a hike down to the sea, but off he goes!
A nice afternoon just me and my boy. Right off to plant that rose, i haven't forgotten.

Little photo for Diane!! x x x

A good day

Today was spent mostly at home pottering in the garden after a visit to the garden center, i bought a lovely yellow rose and a mock orange . I will show them to you tomorrow.

The above pictures were taken from Smeatons pier last night , I love to go and just sit and watch the sea , the boats, the seals. The sea was a lovely deep blue last night.

And i took this on the way home from work!!
And so to bed:)

Its definately summer here in St. Ives, oops i hope i haven't just jinxed it! People everywhere, no parking.Ah i mustn't grumble the weather is great. The best bit of the summer for me is just at the end ,about middle of September when its alot quieter and you can park and walk round town fairly easily and still have nice warm days on the beach.
Things are looking good in the garden today, have a look......

Little ice plant ( i forget what they are called) just about to flower.

Errr little pink daisy type thingey ( i forget this also)

Ahh i know this one, Freesia, hmm did i spell that right?!

Hoping you are all having beautiful weather wherever you are! xxxx

Beautiful day!

Its a lovely day in St. Ives again today, the sun is shining ,the boats are bobbing and the seagulls are shouting. The picture above is one i made a couple of years ago, it hangs above our bed. I do sew alot of pictures of the harbour and i like to make them really bright and cheerful. I have been doing applique now for lots of years and i started off sewing tiny , invisible stitches like i was taught to, but now i like to have my stitching on show and i use lots of different colour threads. I think it adds a bit more colour and texture to the picture:)

This is the state of one of my fabric chests, not a pretty sight eh? must have a sort out :(

And finally, just thought i would show you my wooden mermaid i made quite a while ago now, well actually Chris cut her out for me from a template i made then i painted her, she stands on the shelf in the bathroom!! x x x

Roses and anenomes in the garden.

Promised Sam i would make cookies while he was at school!

The start of a new hanging! I love this part...deciding what to put on it, i have alot of ideas . I have sketch books full of drawings and doodles and i get them out and browse through and even add to them and then quite often take bits from one and bits from another. I love to sit and doodle don't you?! x x x
