Monday

The morning started a bit drab, and then a mighty heavy shower and then sunshine. Yesterday was spent pretty much at home cos it rained all the day. Today i had to do a few errands which meant venturing into town. Unfortunately at this time of year, if you drive down, you have to be there before ten ish or else there is nowhere to park! So its best to walk if you can.

We joined the holidaymakers walking round, taking pictures , looking in all the little galleries and even going and playing in the amusement arcade!!

We don't go down town very much in the summer, prefer to wait till about October.
All these photos were taken this morning, see how the sky is changing, its blue sky again now though! Have a nice week all ! x x

Porthlevan

Off we went to Porthlevan today, they have a lovely craft supply shop there so i thought i could go there and do the beachy thing at the same time!! So after i had a good rummage round and bought lots of fat quarters and several balls of wool oh and some buttons, we bought some pasties and went and sat on the beach. I quite like porthlevan with its little harbour and quaint little cottages. The weather here is fine, a bit overcast but nice and warm. Tomorrow they say its going to rain.

Before we went out this morning , the postie brought me a parcel. I do love parcels . It was this lovely Daisy pincushion i bought from Julie over at Gingerbread. It was so nicely packaged and came with some new berry pins!! I love it thank you Julie x

hope you all having a good weekend x x

Artist in residence!

Sam's last day today,so yesterday home came all the work from the last term! Earlier in the year they had Creative Week where the school invites local artists in to teach workshops with the children, Sam loves it. This year they did all sorts of things including Feltmaking, they framed all the pieces and they are on display around the school. But i think what he most enjoyed was the day spent with Anthony Frost, a very well known artist, son of Terry Frost. If you click here you can see some of his work . This canvas below is Sam's , its a collage of different papers and net, brightly painted and has pride of place on the kitchen wall. Right off to do the housework!!

Thank you

I love these beautiful Mallow plants, the flowers are gorgeous, don't you think?

Sam doesn't break up till wednesday, so i did a bit of sewing for teacher last night. I hope she likes it. A couple of brooches to finish tonight for teachers helpers! Going to check out the new Poundland in Penzance later, hopefully will pick up a few jolly gift bags. We are not going away in the holidays but have lots of day trips planned, must keep up with the sewing aswell. Hope the weather is better than it has been these past few days! Have a nice week all x x x

Sunday drivers

Today the weather looked a bit iffy again so we jumped in the car and ended up here first of all.

Its Porthcurno, a cove just round the corner from the Minnack Theatre .We walked down to the beach, sat for a while and watched the brave holidaymakers swimming, then it started to rain so we headed back to the car quick smart!

We drove past Lands End and back out through St. Just and stopped here at Cape Cornwall.

Priests cove.

Longships lighthouse in the distance.
We had pasties before we walked up to the top. It was rather windy up there, but the weather had cleared and it was lovely. Blew a few cobwebs away!

The monument on the top of Cape Cornwall is in fact a mine ventilation chimney as there was a tin mine here once. There are lots of old engine houses all around these parts. This one below is one of my favourites and is on the coast road near Zennor. We passed it on the way home.

hope you all had a lovely weekend. Back to the sewing tomorrow. x x

View from the car on the way back to St.Ives along the coast road.

And another..

This little boat is rather cute i think! Pink and green with jolly bunting along the sides. It was to go on my Folksy shop but its already sold!!! Plenty more to come. Sorry for the picture the true colours don't show up very well. Its dark and dingey today.

2 of my beach huts to go on Folksy this week, the weather hasn't been really beach weather so i made my own !!!

In fact as i write this, it is absolutely chucking it down . Sam doesn't break up till next Wednesday and i am hoping for some lovely summer, beachy weather for the holidays.
Off to stitch more boats!!!

Little Boats!

Well one, actually, at the minute. I am going to make a few more of these, in different colours and see if they sell in my Folksy shop. But i thought i would post them here first and get your comments! Tonight will see me starting on a whole fleet of little colourful boats, they are a joy to make just like the houses and huts! Hoping everyone had a good weekend. Its raining again today here or rather, heavy showers. At least the garden is pleased :) See you tomorrow!

A sad day.

Today i have to take poor old Buster to the vet to be put to sleep, he is nineteen now and i have had him all his life, he is part of the family. He has been finding it increasingly difficult to get around, and i think he is going blind. I have been putting it off for a while but i know really he is not happy and has no quality of life anymore.

I will miss him.

Tuesday already

I really don't know where the time goes, do you? I can't believe its now Tuesday. Alot of sewing going on here and a bit of gardening. My dad has just bought me a Plumbago which i think is an inside plant and so i am just finding the right place for it , apparently it climbs and it gets quite big. Will show you a pic when it has found its place!

I love these little ice plants, i grew them from seed and they are everywhere, really cheerful!
They aren't as bright in the photo.
These wavy vases i bought from the car boot on Sunday, they look great on the windowsill in the bathroom, especially when the sun shines in!

Right then, got to nip into town now for a few bits, see you all tomorrow :) x x x

cooling down

Its alot cooler here thank goodness! We had rain and thunderstorms for a while yesterday and its cleared the air. Its still lovely with a few clouds hanging around. We bought fish and chips tonight and took them over to Gwithian Towans.

We checked out the rock pools, Sam climbed the rocks, as usual, and i paddled!!

there are lots of rocks and caves at Gwithian

The tide was coming in, and it was lovely just to walk along in it, nice and cool, not too cold.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend x x
