Gingerbread house

Here is my little gingerbread house all finished and in my shop. Its bigger than my other houses, just like the fairytale cottage. I have never made a gingerbread house out of gingerbread before, it looks very fiddly. I have seen some lovely ones though with different coloured sweets all over them and much detail. I wouldn't like to eat it after all that work!! I thought i might make some very small houses to put on keyrings, you know , for your house keys maybe. I've made one to try out myself. I'll let you know how that works out , maybe i can put some in my folksy shop. Oh and i have a christmas house on the go too! Friday i am off with a friend to the Creative Stitches and Hobbycraft exhibition in Exeter, ooh i can't wait. I expect i shall come home with bags of supplies that i really, really do need!!!!!!! I'm thinking fabric, buttons, threads.........ooh how exciting!!!

Have a good rest of the week everyone! x x x x

As i was going to St. Ives.........

......i remembered St Ives Festival is on at the moment so it wouldn't be as quiet as i thought! Do you see the flags out, its all for the Festival which happens every year this time and there is a lot going on, live music from local and international musicians, open art studios and galleries, markets, plays, ooh yeah , its all going on in St. Ives you know!

I walked over to smeatons pier and noticed the lifeboat was coming out to play so i thought i would take some pics for you. The tide was out so the tractor had to tow it down into the sea.

I think they were just on an exercise and not an emergency. Living here i get to see it alot but its still quite nice to watch them go, although it turns my stomach sometimes when the sea's rough. I would be useless i don't do boats very well! We are lucky to have them and i think they're very brave.

There she goes!

I hope you have all had a good week , enjoy your weekend x x

Shiny, brown conkers

Ooh don't you love conkers, open them up and that lovely shiny, reddy, brown colour is just great. Chris brought these home from work, apparently they were everywhere. So they were strung onto string and played with just like i remember the boys at school doing! I remember my brothers trying allsorts to get them the hardest, baking them , soaking them in vinegar, i'm not sure it worked! So all my conkers have gone, all smashed, what a shame. I,ll get some more!

Ahh i love my new red shoes!

This primula is still flowering long after all my others have finished, i think thats a bit weird don't you? I wonder how long it will last.

And finally, a special mention for Wizz, our baby, who is a year old this month. Isn't he gorgeous, he has the most beautiful blue eyes which the camera doesn't really show. Oh i do love him! And just before i go its not too late to enter my giveaway, winner will be announced on Wednesday, have a great week everyone x

Once upon a time....

Just wanted to show you my latest creation, my little enchanted fairy tale cottage. It has taken me quite awhile to make this one and it is quite a bit bigger than my usual houses. I think it is one of my favourites.  It has shutters on the windows and little attic windows too, There is a little round window and lots of flowers in the window boxes . I am actually very pleased with it, let me know what you think! oh some of my pics seem to make it look a bit wonky, but its not, i am i think!!! This little house is sold.
