Bake Day

Well , I didn't get to this one with my camera quite quick enough did I!!

I'm not a cakey kind of person myself, but now and again something sweet is needed!

Scones were made and with a bit of jam and cream, hmm not bad.

Actually, I'd rather have a pasty!!!

Enjoy the rest of your week

First Daffs of the year (not from the garden)

I've been very busy with my dolls, I'm pleased to say! I'm finding it increasingly difficult using the kitchen table as my workspace, there's just not enough room, I really need to spread out more and be able to leave stuff out not have to pack everything away every what seems like five minutes!

I have all my sewing bits and pieces in different parts of the house, some under the bed in boxes, some in the bottom of the spare wardrobe, some in a pine box in the hallway, I just want to have everything in one space. Its not going to happen anytime soon.

See Elmo there, we share that chair, he creeps in behind me onto the cushion!
My little sewing companion.

Pretty Maids all in a row!

I've given my dolls a collective name of 'li'l Maids'

Maids is a well used word down here in Cornwall!!

They all come with a vintage handmade tag with their name stamped on, and on their dresses is a Li'l maids tag.

I'm still making my little houses too!

I'm going to spend this evening updating my Folksy and Etsy shops. I want to make some scones too and a cake, the nicey tins are empty!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Today was a lovely day here, these pictures were taken this afternoon whilst walking the dogs.

The sea in the distance that way.......

And Steeple Point in the distance that way. It was nice to be out today, it was cold but lovely blue sky and SUNSHINE!!!

I have been making some more Vintage style cloth dolls and I'm going to put them in my Etsy shop, or my Folksy shop, or both!

The dolls are made from tea stained calico to age them a bit, then they get their pretty dresses made from either new or recycled fabric, pantaloons, little felt shoes, bits of vintage lace and old mother of pearl buttons are added, jute string hair and finally paint their little faces.

Each doll has a name and has it stamped on to her very own vintage effect handmade tag, which is pinned to the back of her dress. This one above you can see is 'Maisie'.

Here is Maisie with her friend Ruby!

Going to do a bit of re-organising in my online shops and try to promote them a bit more than I have been doing. Might give my blog a bit of a re style too, can't figure out why my header photo isn't central anymore!

Wishing you all a lovely rest of the week!
