Hello Spring?

 Well, last day of February and it started off beautiful in St. Ives. Mid morning and a mist had decended.

 I went over to Godrevy, and it was beautiful, you can see the mist over St. Ives in the top photo.

 I've got really in to making my dolls, and have designed and made this little one , and she now has some friends which I shall show you next time. I think they're rather cute and I loved painting their little faces.

I've called her Matilda!

I'm looking forward to March!

Tag Tuesday

I don't think I told you that I had joined Tag Tuesday hosted by the lovely Carolyn from Love

Stitching Red

Here are my tags for Hearts (the top one) and Valentines Day. The top one was made using a small bought tag, which i covered with a faded rose pattern fabric, a pale green fabric and a dusky pink scrap. I heated some gold organza till it shrivelled slightly and added a small piece of vintage lace. I'd glued the first piece down then I stitched the rest with some simple cross stitches. I sewed the beads on then I singed the edges of the tag to give it an aged appearance and then added the ribbon bow and tie.

This one was a bigger tag which I made myself from the middle of a toilet roll, I managed to cut three nice sized tags from one roll and I have plenty made ready! Obviously you have to flatten the rolls before cutting, I just sprayed them with water , ironed them flat and left them under some heavy books. This tag started also with a vintage rose fabric glued on, then I added some scraps of red fabric, one of which is quite sparkly. I had some dried rose petals from the garden last year, I thought I could use those so I stitched them down under some fine net . I also have a little box of handmade beads that I made last year so a pink one found its way on to this tag along with some commercial little beads. I stamped a piece of calico ' roses are red' and stitched that down and added some little red french knots. I made a tassle from a variety of threads and added some beads to that. Voila!

I am having great fun making these and have already started on next weeks!

Happy Birthday Mum

We lost my Mum to Cancer 4 years ago on the 29 th of this month.

Godrevy was her favourite place in the world, she wanted her ashes scattered here.

We come here alot, but today we came with Dad because it would have been her Birthday today.

Plenty of Seals today!

Can you see those ones down there playing in the sea?

It was a beautiful day today, very cold though.

No snow here......

.....just a few rather frosty mornings.

These pictures were taken up at the ponies field, just 2 mins up the road.
Thats Rosewall hill you can see, it was a beautiful day today and the sun melted the frost quite quickly, you can see the frost still, in the shade.

Nice and cosy in the barn with some hay.

Li'l Maids

Two of my dolls Beth and Aggy have been adopted together this week and are on their way to live in New York!!

I'm so pleased!

This one above is Mary and she carries her own rather grubby toy rabbit.


And this is Merryn. She's a proper li'l Cornish Maid and she even has her own Cornish Pasty in her pocket in case she gets hungry!!!

I am loving making these dolls, I've also got some Hanging Cornish Cottages in progress, shall show you those this week.

Oh , we had no snow this week, we had two especially cold days and then back to normal. In fact today was really quite mild so after a walk around town I did a bit of much needed gardening, followed by some much needed baking!!!
